It's not easy to put up with in-laws in general. Putting up with a Scorpio mother-in-law is especially more so. These mothers will ride you hard and they will be consistent about it. If you really love the person and want to go being together, make sure you have the patience to stomach whatever the Scorpio comes up with. Not that they will try to make your life a living hell. Mothers in law are just seen that way … in general. The Scorpio mother in law is the quiet type but only at first. She likes to observe before reacting and think about things to say but that doesn't mean they can always keep their tact or that they can make the right decision when it comes their children's relationships.
Don't play tug of war with the mother in law. Scorpio mothers are possessive of their kids so expect them to be meddlesome. They like to think there's no one better that can take care of their children than themselves. You should show your partner's mom you can take care of their daughter / son but don't compete with her. Praise her a little and say things about her that you found out from your spouse. Good things of course. Ask her for advice about things. Make her feel she's the one running the show. That might sound hard especially if you're a sign that likes to be dominant too but you can say something like, "I was wondering if you could help me about this thing, you're son / daughter said you're pretty skilled at it." Flattering them would help you start to get to their good side and you can work your way from there. Also, be careful of the words you use around her. Scorpios are very sensitive and it's not unlikely that she might misinterpret the things you say. Don't be surprised if they show up on your doorstep more often than you want. Again, she can be very possessive and she will most likely have a good relationship with her children so she will check in on them from time to time. More than you care to entertain her, even. Your partner would want nothing more than you and her to get along too so try to work on it. It's not going to be a picnic but it will be very much worth it. Having a Scorpio on your side is good; having a your Scorpio mother in law on your side is even better. You will need a good amount of patience. It will be useful in times when you're having an argument with your spouse and your mother in law takes his side. You might feel they are teaming up against you so you also need to be open minded and see things in a different light. Also, she questions every single thing that you do including the way you arrange your furniture, so if you're feeling pissed off, stop what you're doing, close your eyes and count to ten while taking slow, deep breaths.
Some people will say you are or will be married to your partner and not his / her mother but trying to get along with her will show a better and more long term results.
